Admittedly, I saw 2.5 quarters of it while working on bad Barstool super bowl t-shirts. But actually watching the games is not a prerequisite for the elite Takesmen of sports media.
From what I saw, I think a case can be made that Benjamin "Button" Black is better than the Glory Boy Brandon Purvis. He limited turnovers and kept his team in the game despite a horrific 7 carries for -1 yard from featureback Kaseem Wheatley.
He threw one INT, compared to SIX by the former first overall pick Purvis in his last appearance. After Purvis went down with an injury to WFT, it was Black who rallied the troops for a flawless scoring drive in that game as well.
What has Purvis won? If he wasn't selected 1-1, would we even care about him?
Comparing him to his predecessor in hollow stats, Malcolm "Never" Wright, Purvis falls short across the board.
In user games, Wright has a 80.4 passer rating to Purvis's 70.8. Gross. Wright averaged 342.3 YPG to Purvis's 259.5. Wright had a 59/72 TD/INT Ratio... Purvis's is 24/40. Wright's regular season W% was .363... Purvis's is .333. Wright has a playoff win. Purvis most certainly does not. AND Purvis got the benefit making these numbers look better by playing Wall already this year. Wright was not afforded those luxuries out in Houston.
It might be time for Abe Hands to look in the mirror and ask himself, "is Brandon Purvis really the future of the Eagles franchise?"
The answer should be, "No."
